A map of Europe in the year 1350, as borders stood while the Black Death was busy killing a third of the population. The Crusades were long over, the feudal system was in full swing, and the Renaissance and Reformation were ideas still a century or more down the road.
Two types of continent bonuses are given in this game. Empire bonuses (indicated by large colored numbers) are awarded for owning all territories within the large colored areas (the "empires"). Disputed Territory bonuses (indicated by black numbers on bicolored regions) are awarded if a player owns such a territory plus one of the two empires claiming the territory. For example, the Aquitaine was a traditional part of France but was ruled by England at that time, so a bonus of 2 points is awarded if its owner also owns all of France or all of England.
Some of the larger countries have been subdivided into regions indicated by dashed lines. This merely indicates that those areas were more politically unified than areas with thin solid lines. For purposes of gameplay, though, there is no difference between a thin dashed line and a thin solid line.
This map has no border modifiers.
This game works best with 3 to 8 players.
Fixes as of March 26, 2010 to version 1.0:
Albania now is included in [Aegean+Crete] continent.
Added border from Aquitaine to Leon & Asturias.
